Putrajaya plans to build more PPA1M homes in Kluang
JOHOR BAHRU (Aug 23): Putrajaya plans to build more homes within the RM90,000 to RM120,000 range under the 1Malaysia Civil Servants Housing Programme in Kluang.
Chief Secretary to the government Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa said it was to enable civil servants with an income of as low as RM1,000 to own homes.
The houses were 20% to 30% cheaper than those being sold outside the programme, he told reporters after a social welfare function organised by Puspanita at the Damo orphanage at Taman Intan in Kluang yesterday.
Dr Ali said the PPA1M project on 32ha of land near Hospital Enche’ Besar Hajjah Khalsom was one of three projects for Johor.
“The other two PPA1M projects will be in Bandar Penawar and Pengerang near Kota Tinggi,” he said, adding that 325 units of two-storey terraced houses will be constructed in the first phase, which will commence in January and be scheduled for completion in 2017.
Dr Ali PPA1M would work on the project in cooperation with Yayasan Pelajaran Johor. He added that 500 units will be built in Bandar Penawar and 600 units in Pengerang.
